KCSM  91.1

One of the best jazz radio stations in the country (IMHO), their jazz library is the 3rd largest in the Untied States, behind The Smithsonian, and Rutgers University (NJ).  I began listening to this station when I lived in the Bay Area, in Berkeley, CA.  I owe a great deal of my jazz education to the incredible DJ’s at KCSM.  Some of my favorites:

  • Sunny Buxton, on Saturday’s for “Midday Jazz,” from 10-2, and
  • Jesse “Chuy” Varela, who hosts “Latin Jazz,” on Sunday’s from 2-6.
  • “Jazz Oasis,” everyday from 6-10pm, hosts varying

Though I no longer live in the Bay Area, I often listen to jazz on the KCSM app, or livestreaming on my laptop.  You can, too.
